Am I Gay?

Posted: 06/03/2015  1:26 AM EST

I can’t be definite on how many times have I been asked by random friends why I often hang out with gay people. My standard response is "why not?"

But I wonder what’s with gay people that it really bothers some of my friends if I hang out with them every day? Is it because they’re nonheterosexual and they go out with some guys or other gays? Are you judging them because they are attracted to someone with the same genitals as theirs? Are you judging them according to the dress that they wear?

Then let me tell you that you are ignorant!

Perhaps, at the back of your mind, you doubt my sexuality because I’m surrounded with gays. Perhaps, silently, you’re thinking that I’m one of them because when they crack green jokes, I can relate.

Well, friends and relatives who might have silently questioned my sexuality because of my gay friends, let me answer you: no, I am not gay; and yes, I hang out with them because I am confident of my sexuality and I know that I can only be aroused by girls. And just to give you more assurance, sometimes before I go to sleep, I still think of big boobs, pink nipples, and pink pussies. You don’t really need to know that, but I’m sharing it anyway.

But let me ask you a question, a question that I always wanted to ask to those people who often ask me why I hang out with gays.

How do you define gay?

Do you define gay based on Merriam-Webster’s definition, which is "a person who is sexually attracted to someone with the same sex"? If yes, then for the second time, let me tell you that you are ignorant!

Let me give you some examples of who the real gays are:

A man who walks away from his responsibility and leaves a woman behind because he found out that she’s expecting, that’s gay.

A married man who can’t stay loyal to his wife, that’s gay.

A man who hurts a woman physically or emotionally, that’s gay.

A man who pays women for sexual satisfaction, that’s gay.

A man who disrespects his parents, that’s gay.

A man who rapes women, that’s gay.

Can we not judge other people based on their sexual preferences? Better yet, can we not judge other people at all? Let’s respect them because they may be gay or lesbian but they are better than a judgmental mammal like you!

As it’s been said in a song of my favorite rapper Gloc9:

Di sinusukat ang tapang at ang bigote sa mukha dahil kung minsan mas lalaki pa sa lalaki ang bakla.
